Reffered to as The Pension Strategy Board

The Essex Pension Fund Board was formed in 2008 as the result of pension legislation and as result of further legislation was renamed the Pension Strategy Board in 2015.

The Board was established as an overarching body to oversee the functions of Essex County Council as Administering Authority of the Fund.  All teams responsible for the administration of the Fund report to the Board.

The Pension Strategy Board ensure all aspects of Essex Pension Fund administration comply with the regulations and legislation, they approve administration discretions, agree the annual business plan and the communication strategy.

The members of the Pension Board include representatives of fund scheme members.

Hymans Robertson is the independent Governance and Administration advisor to the board.
